Summer vacation is here! School is over, you run home as fast as you can to watch anime. As the fan turns on to battle the heat in your room, you grab your laptop and go to your preferred streaming site. But what now? You didn’t even think of what show to watch! Don’t worry, I got you! This relaxing genre that you’re about to explore is called Slice of Life.
Here are three good relaxing shows for when you just need to turn off your mind.

Yuru Camp
Have you ever gone camping? Were you alone or with friends and family? If you want to relive those (hopefully) good times, then Yuru Camp is for you! With two seasons and specials waiting for you to dive into!
Rin prefers to camp alone at the base of Mount Fuji. Getting her own firewood, cooking her own food, everything at her pace. She always did everything by herself and had no plans of changing her ways.
Suddenly the lost Nadeshiko has to take refuge at Rin’s campsite. Unexpectedly Rin enjoyed their evening together so much so that when Nadeshiko was picked up by her older sister, they hoped they would camp together again.
Maybe camping with other people wasn’t so bad after all?
As soon as Nadeshiko joined her highschool’s Outdoor club, she started learning more about all the different ways of camping. Meeting new people and learning a lot of tips and tricks to stay warm and safe during their trips.
Hoping to reunite with Rin to camp together once more.
Nichijou
Do normal episodes bore you? Do you want to see multiple things happening at once, a lot of chaos and bizarre scenes? If the normal highschool anime is not interesting to you, then how about a show where the principal suplexes a deer or where a highschooler gets bitten by an odd looking talking crow. The series has 26 episodes full of extraordinary moments.
Nichijou, also called My Ordinary Life, isn’t as ordinary as it sounds.
The show follows a group of three highschool girls, Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi and Mai Minakami. Their stories intertwine with a young genius, Hakase Shinonome, her robot caretaker Nano, and their talking cat Sakamoto.
As we follow these characters live their ordinary but very absurd lives, you meet the funny people surrounding them. For example a tsundere girl who shoots her crush with a rocket launcher on a daily basis or a robot who has a cake roll dispenser in her arm.
Their wacky lives will certainly keep your attention!
Let's Make a Mug too
Have you ever considered taking up a hobby that’s not anime related in any way? Have you ever thought, wow I have some free time, maybe I should make myself a new mug…
If you have, then this anime is incredibly perfect for you! This anime with 12 episodes (with a second season on it’s way) is waiting for you to join their pottery club! Don’t worry, this show is only 14 minutes per episode so that you can keep your creative mug making going!
The city of Tajimi, located in the southern part of Gifu Prefecture, Japan, is famous for Mino earthenware. It’s so famous that there are multiple places where you can try your hand at making pottery. Local restaurants serve their dishes on some locally made plates and other tableware. The city even has a few ceramic art museums! As you can tell, pottery is incredibly popular.
When a highschool girl called Himeno Toyokawa moved there with her family, it came to no one's surprise that she wanted to try out pottery as well. Meeting new friends and learning more about the different types of ceramics, she expands her horizon.
But with so many options to choose from, what is she going to make first?
Are you feeling relaxed already? If not, why not start one of these slow paced shows to help you relax after a warm day full of activities! I myself have enjoyed all of these shows, and hope you will too this summer!
Stay hydrated!
