Talking about Dandadan!👽👻
Hi everyone! In this blog I would like to talk about the anime Dandadan. As of now it’s very popular amongst the anime community. Ever since it was announced to get an anime adaptation everyone got hyped for it and there was high expectation for the anime too! The moment the trailer dropped I got very interested in the anime. I haven’t read the manga so everything I watch is completely blind from my perspective.
What is Dandadan?
It’s a series focusing on 2 highschoolers, a boy named Ken Takaharu and a girl Momo Ayase. All though everyone rather calls Ken by Okarun. You will understand why if you have watched episode 2. The plot focused on these 2 characters who ended up in a bizarre situation after challenging each other on their occult believes, Okarun believes in aliens, while Momo believes in ghost. Their first encounters with the unknown ended up with Okarun getting cursed by an evil spirit. The series continues with various encounters of aliens and ghosts throughout the story and meeting more companions as the series goes on. Finding a way to free Okarun from his curse.
What type of anime is it?
Aside from what official streaming websites categorize the series, I see it as a shonen, action, supernatural and romcom series. Yes. this series has romance! Although I'm not too fond of it usually, but if it’s done in a way that builds up to it properly, I enjoy it. The romance is mostly between the relationship between Okarun and Momo who first start to see each other as strangers to friends. As well lots of fun comedy between the two of how chaotic they can be. The action scenes in the anime are well animated which hypes up every moment!
How are the characters?"
As mentioned before the anime starts of with Okarun and Momo, but later on more characters are introduced as the anime opening shows it. Momo’s grandmother and turbo granny. All are fun and interesting written characters. From my predictions I believe the other characters (so far til episode 6) Aira is going to be their next companion. Some characters are introduced in a way to dislike them at firsthand, but I believe they will be loved as soon their development is shown.
My thoughts?
I really enjoy it, the animation, fun main characters and in overall an interesting plot that I’m not 100% where it will lead me. I am watching the anime with 4-5 other people together so it always a treat to have! The opening is catchy and of course they will leave me hanging on cliffhangers! I can’t wait for what episode 7 has to offer as people mention it will be very emotional!
